DTC B2424: Headlight Beam Level Control Motor LH Lost Communication; DTC B2425: Headlight Beam Level Control Motor RH Lost Communication [10/2016 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result: 

    NEXT

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2424 and B2425 are not output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to

      NG (DTC B2424 is output) B
      NG (DTC B2425 is output) C

    Result:

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2016 - 10/2017]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [10/2017 - 09/2020]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A33 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A104 headlight swivel ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-1 (LHM+) - A104-30 (LH+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A33-1 (LHM+) or A104-30 (LH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT LH (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR LH) 
    1. Replace the headlight unit LH (headlight swivel motor LH) with a new or known good one.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [10/2016 - 09/2018] , or refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2018 - 09/2020]

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

  5. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS / Trouble Codes.
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Clear DTCs 

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

  6. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > AFS > Trouble Codes 

      OK

      DTC B2424 is not output.

      Result

    Result:

    END (HEADLIGHT UNIT LH (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR LH) WAS DEFECTIVE)

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - 09/2020] 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A1 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the A104 headlight swivel ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A1-1 (RHM+) - A104-11 (RH+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A1-1 (RHM+) or A104-11 (RH+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  8. REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT RH (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR RH) 
    1. Replace the headlight unit RH (headlight swivel motor RH) with a new or known good one.
