Distance Control Switch Circuit [09/2020 - 11/2021]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (Radar Cruise2) 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Data List

      Vehicle-to-vehicle Distance Control Switch Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch signal ON or OFF ON: Vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch pushed

      Tester Display
      Vehicle-to-vehicle Distance Control Switch

      OK

      The value of the Data List item changes according to the operation of the vehicle-to-vehicle distance control switch.

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2020 - 11/2021]

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [09/2020 - ]

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSPECTION [10/2016 - ]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA, ECM AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S18 forward recognition camera connector.
    2. Disconnect the A91 ECM connector (for 8AR-FTS).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      FOR 8AR-FTS:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K26-12 (DIST) - S18-3 (LKSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      K26-2 (ECC) - A91-41 (ECCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      K26-12 (DIST) or S18-3 (LKSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K26-2 (ECC) or A91-41 (ECCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR 2GR-FKS:

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K26-12 (DIST) - S18-3 (LKSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      K26-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K26-12 (DIST) or S18-3 (LKSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  5. CHECK ECM (ECM TERMINALS)

    1. Disconnect the F78 ECM connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A91-41 (ECCS) - F78-53 (E1) Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2017 - ]
