Main Switch Circuit [04/2013 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. CHECK BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH (WARNING CANCELING SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Check that the blind spot monitor indicator on the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) illuminates normally when the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is turned from off to on.
    2. Check that the blind spot monitor indicator on the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) turns off normally when the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) is turned from on to off.

      OK

      The blind spot monitor indicator operates normally.

      Result

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Blind Spot Monitor Master / Data List.
    5. According to the display on Techstream, read the Data List.

      Body Electrical > Blind Spot Monitor Master > Data List

  3. INSPECT BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH (WARNING CANCELING SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2020]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      8 (B) - 11 (D) Blind spot monitor main switch on (not protruding) Below 1 Ω
      8 (B) - 11 (D) Blind spot monitor main switch off (protruding) 10 kΩ or higher

    REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH (WARNING CANCELING SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2020]

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH - BATTERY) 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K104-8 (B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      K104-8 (B) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q50 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q50-8 (BSSW) - K104-11 (D) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q50-8 (BSSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - 10/2016]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. INSPECT BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH (WARNING CANCELING SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly).

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 09/2020]

    2. Apply battery voltage to the blind spot monitor main switch (warning canceling switch assembly) connector and check the operation of the blind spot monitor indicator, as shown in the table below.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BLIND SPOT MONITOR MAIN SWITCH - BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH) 
    1. Disconnect the Q50 blind spot monitor sensor LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q50-3 (BIND) - K104-12 (E) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q50-3 (BIND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BLIND SPOT MONITOR SENSOR LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - 10/2016]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [10/2016 - ]

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
