Inspection [08/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FRONT ACCELERATION SENSOR 
    1. Connect 3 dry batteries of 1.5 V in series.

    2. Connect the positive (+) end of the batteries to terminal 3 (SHB) of the acceleration sensor and the negative (-) end of the batteries to terminal 2 (SHG). Then measure the voltage between terminal 1 (SGFL) and terminal 2 (SHG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Sensor Condition Specified Condition
      1 (SGFL) - 2 (SHG) Sensor stationary 2.0 to 2.5 V
      Sensor tilted Changes between 0.9 and 2.3 V

      Top
      Bottom

      HINT: 

      When the front acceleration sensor is tilted, it may output a different value.

      NOTE:
      • Do not apply higher than 6 V.
      • Do not drop the front acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
      • Never place the front acceleration sensor upside down.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front acceleration sensor.
