Headlight Cleaner Motor and Relay Circuit [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (HEAD LIGHT CLEANER) 
    1. Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test (Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
      MAIN BODY

      Head Light Cleaner Low beam headlight state signal ON/OFF -

      HINT: 

      The headlight cleaner system operates when the windshield wiper washer switch assembly (windshield wiper switch) is turned on for the first time. After that, the headlight cleaner system cannot be operated with the windshield wiper switch assembly (windshield wiper switch) until the engine switch is turned off and then turned on (IG).

      OK

      Headlight cleaner operates.

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2019] ).
    2. Inspect the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly (Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - ] ).

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A31-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      (to Headlight Cleaner Motor and Pump Assembly)

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the headlight cleaner control relay connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A32-3 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      A32-3 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A32-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the A31 headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A32 headlight cleaner control relay connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A31-1 - A32-6 (PB) Always Below 1 Ω
      A31-1 or A32-6 (PB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - ] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
