Power Seat Power Easy Access System Function does not Operate [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT OPERATION 
    1. Check that each function of the power seat operates normally by using the front power seat switch (driver seat).

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [10/2015 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Power seat functions operate normally A
      All power seat functions do not operate B
      One or more power seat motors do not operate C

    Result: 

    GO TO OTHER DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE (Front Power Seat does not Operate with Front Power Seat Switch). Refer to  Front Power Seat does not Operate with Front Power Seat Switch [10/2015 - ]  

    Result: 

    GO TO OTHER DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE (One or more Power Seat Motors do not Operate). Refer to  One or more Power Seat Motors do not Operate [10/2015 - ]  

    Result:

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DRIVER SEAT BUCKLE SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Driver Seat > Data List

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - IG POWER SUPPLY) 
    1. Disconnect the front seat outer belt assembly LH connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Front Seat Outer Belt Assembly LH)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      U4-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      U4-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH - POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the g5 position control ECU and switch assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U4-2 (L) - g5-9 (RDC) Always Below 1 Ω
      U4-2 (L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      g5-9 (RDC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK SEAT BELT TENSION REDUCER SYSTEM 
    1. Check the seat belt tension reducer system.

      Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION [10/2015 - ]

      OK

      Seat belt tension reducer system is normal.

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

  6. REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Temporarily replace the position control ECU and switch assembly LH with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

  7. CHECK POWER SEAT POWER EASY ACCESS SYSTEM 
    1. Check the power seat easy access system.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [10/2015 - ]

      OK

      Power seat power easy access system is normal.

    Result: 

    OK 

    END (POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH WAS DEFECTIVE)

    REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ] 

  8. INSPECT FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

    2. Inspect the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH - FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Disconnect the g5 position control ECU and switch assembly LH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      g5-10 (DBCL) - g8-1 (RDC) Always Below 1 Ω
      g5-10 (DBCL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      g8-1 (RDC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE POSITION CONTROL ECU AND SWITCH ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2017 - ]
