Display does not Dim when Light Control Switch is Turned ON [10/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SYMPTOMS 
    1. Check the symptoms that occur by viewing the display.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      There is a delay in when the multi-display*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 dims after the navigation system is turned on with the light control switch in the tail or head position. A
      The multi-display*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 dims for a moment and then becomes bright after the navigation system is turned on with the light control switch in the tail or head position. B
      When the light control switch is in the tail or head position, the multi-display*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 dims but does not change to night mode.
      When the light control switch is in the tail or head position, the multi-display*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 neither dims nor switches to night mode. C

      HINT: 

      • When the navigation system is activated with the light control switch in the tail or head position, before AVC-LAN communication is established, the multi-display*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 dims the display according to the illumination signal received via a direct line.
      • After AVC-LAN communication is established, the multi-display*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 dims the display according to a dimmer signal sent via a direct line.
      • The radio receiver assembly changes the multi-display*1 or accessory meter assembly*2 between daytime mode and night mode according to the illumination signal input.
      • *1: for 8 Inch Display
      • *2: for 12.3 Inch Display

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL) 
    1. for 8 Inch Display
      1. Disconnect the multi-display connector.
      2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K52-13 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      3. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K52-2 (ILL) - K52-13 (GND1) Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V
    2. for 12.3 Inch Display
      1. Disconnect the accessory meter assembly connector.
      2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K126-13 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      3. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

        Standard Voltage

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K126-2 (ILL) - K126-13 (GND1) Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2015 - 09/2017]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2017 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  3. CHECK IMAGE QUALITY SETTING 
    1. Turn the light control switch to the tail or head position.
    2. Check that daytime mode on the display adjustment screen is set to on.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Daytime mode is set to on. A
      Daytime mode is set to off. B

    Result: 

    CHANGE DAYTIME MODE SETTING TO OFF

  4. CHECK VEHICLE SIGNAL (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter the "Vehicle Signal Check Mode" screen. Refer to Check Vehicle Signal in Operation Check.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [10/2015 - ]

    2. Check that the display changes between ON and OFF according to the light control switch operation.

      OK

      Light Control Switch Display
      Tail or head ON
      Off OFF

      HINT: 

      The display is updated once per second. It is normal for the display to lag behind the actual switch operation.

      Result

      NG

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ILLUMINATION SIGNAL) 
    1. Disconnect the radio receiver assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      K57-12 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      K57-14 (ILL+) - K57-12 (GND1) Light control switch in tail or head position 11 to 14 V

    Result:
