Cruise Control Switch Circuit [10/2015 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise > Data List

      Cruise Control Main Switch Cruise control switch main signal ON or OFF ON: Cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button) pushed
      OFF: Cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button) released

      OFF: +/RES switch off

      SET/COAST Switch -/SET switch signal ON or OFF ON: -/SET switch on

      Tester Display
      Cruise Control Main Switch
      RES/ACC Switch
      SET/COAST Switch

      OK

      The Data List items shown in the table change according to the operation of the cruise control main switch.

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [10/2015 - 09/2017]

  2. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Remove the cruise control main switch.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]

    2. Inspect the cruise control switch.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE 
    1. Remove the cruise control switch wire.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Spiral Cable with Sensor Sub-assembly)
      *b Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Cruise Control Switch)

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z6-3 - B-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      z6-4 - B-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      z6-3 or B-3 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      z6-4 or B-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [10/2015 - 09/2017]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K26 spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the K4 driving support ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K26-1 (CCS) - K4-17 (CCS) Always Below 1 Ω
      K26-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      K26-1 (CCS) or K4-17 (CCS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
