Pattern Select Switch Sport Mode Circuit [09/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (CAN BUS CHECK)

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING)

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PATTERN SWITCH (PWR/M)) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Pattern Switch (PWR/M).
    4. Read the value displayed on the Techstream.
      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition
      Pattern Switch (PWR/M) SPORTS S+ condition/
      ON or OFF
      During SPORTS S+:
      ON
      Not in SPORTS S+:
      OFF

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The Techstream display changes according to the mode switch (SPORT mode) operation. A
      The Techstream display does not change according to the mode switch (SPORT mode) operation. B
    5. Turn the power switch off.

    Result:  A

  4. CHECK COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the combination switch assembly (See page. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N59-7 (P) - N59-4 (GND) Mode switch being turned and held at SPORT position Below 10 Ω
      Mode switch not turned 10 kΩ or higher
      N59-3 (B) - N59-4 (GND) Mode switch being pushed and held Below 10 Ω
      Mode switch not pushed 10 kΩ or higher

      (Combination Switch Assembly)
    3. Install the combination switch assembly.

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the connector from the ECM.
    2. Disconnect the connector from the combination switch assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A20-34 (SPSW) - N59-7 (P) Always Below 1 Ω
      A20-34 (SPSW) or N59-7 (P) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A20-50 (SPCN) - N59-3 (B) Always Below 1 Ω
      A20-50 (SPCN) or N59-3 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Combination Switch Assembly)
    4. Connect the combination switch assembly connector.
    5. Connect the ECM connector.

    Result:  OK
