Diagnosis System [09/2014 - ]

  1. DESCRIPTION
    1. Connecting the Techstream to the vehicle and reading various data output from the power steering ECU is the only difference between usual troubleshooting procedures and those for a vehicle with a diagnostic system.

The power steering ECU stores DTCs when the ECU detects a malfunction in the ECU itself or in its circuits.

To check the DTCs, connect the Techstream to the DLC3. The Techstream enables you to clear the DTCs and check the freeze frame data and various forms of steering data.

  2. CHECK DLC3
    1. Check the DLC3 (Refer to GENERAL INFORMATION [09/2014 - ] ).
  3. CHECK POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT
    1. Check that the power steering warning light comes on when the engine switch is on (IG), and goes off when the engine is started.
    2. If the power steering warning light does not come on or remains on, inspect the power steering warning light circuit (Refer to Power Steering Warning Light Circuit [09/2014 - ] ).
