Open in Bus 5 Main Bus Line [10/2015 - 09/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 4 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to No. 4 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 9 CAN Junction Connector
      *c to Central Gateway ECU
    2. Disconnect the No. 4 CAN junction connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Connect to
      N167-8 (CANH) - N167-19 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω Central gateway ECU
      N167-10 (CANH) - N167-21 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 9 CAN junction connector

      Result

      NG (Central gateway ECU CAN main wire) B
      NG (No. 9 CAN junction connector CAN main wire) C

    Result: 

    REPLACE NO. 4 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR

  2. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the N167 No. 4 CAN junction connector.

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU - NO. 4 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the central gateway ECU connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Central Gateway ECU)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N165-15 (CA5H) - N165-16 (CA5L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU - NO. 4 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 

  4. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the N167 No. 4 CAN junction connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      NEXT

    Result:

  5. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 9 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the No. 9 CAN junction connector.

      (to No. 9 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 8 CAN Junction Connector
      *c to No. 4 CAN Junction Connector
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Connect to
      N166-3 (CANH) - N166-14 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 8 CAN junction connector
      N166-5 (CANH) - N166-16 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 4 CAN junction connector

    1. Reconnect the N166 No. 9 CAN junction connector.

  7. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 8 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the No. 8 CAN junction connector.

      (to No. 8 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 9 CAN Junction Connector
      *c to Central Gateway ECU
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Connect to
      T46-8 (CANH) - T46-19 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 9 CAN junction connector
      T46-9 (CANH) - T46-20 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω Central gateway ECU

  9. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU - NO. 8 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the central gateway ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N165-9 (CAXH) - N165-24 (CAXL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ]
