Yaw Rate Sensor Communication Stop Mode [10/2015 - 09/2018]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (YAW RATE SENSOR CAN BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Yaw Rate Sensor)
    2. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N51-3 (CANH) - N51-2 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE CONNECTED TO YAW RATE SENSOR (CANH, CANL) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (YAW RATE SENSOR - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - ]

      (to Yaw Rate Sensor)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      N51-4 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N51-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2014 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
