Skid Control ECU Communication Stop Mode [10/2015 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (SKID CONTROL ECU CAN BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      *A Bus 2
      *B Bus 4
      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Brake Actuator Assembly [Skid Control ECU])
    2. Disconnect the brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Bus 2 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A77-22 (CANH) - A77-10 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Bus 4 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A77-36 (CA2H) - A77-37 (CA2L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE CONNECTED TO SKID CONTROL ECU (CANH, CANL, CA2H, CA2L) 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When connecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

      Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - ]

      (to Brake Actuator Assembly [Skid Control ECU])
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A77-38 (+BS) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      A77-13 (BM) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      A77-12 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A77-25 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      A77-1 (GND2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (SKID CONTROL ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
