DTC B2652: Front Vertical Sensor Malfunction (07/2015 -): Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR (07/2015 -) ).

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC output B

    Result:  A

    USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

    (Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING (07/2015 -) )

    Result:  B

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Passenger Seat / Active Test.
    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
      PASSENGER SEAT

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Front Vertical Operation Seat front vertical operation OFF/Up/Down -

      OK

      Motor operates normally.

    Result:  NG

  3. CHECK FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH (FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the W2 front vertical motor connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W2-2 - W2-3 Front vertical switch on 4.8 to 5.1 V

    Result:  NG

    NG

  4. CHECK FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR (FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Reconnect the W2 front vertical motor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W2-2 - Body ground Front vertical switch on 4.5 to 4.8 V

    Result:  OK

    REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL (07/2015 -) )

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPLACE FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR (FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 

    (Refer to REMOVAL (07/2015 -) )

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH - FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the W10 front power seat switch RH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W10-3 (SSFV) - W2-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      W10-1 (SGND) - W2-3 Always Below 1 Ω
      W10-3 (SSFV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W10-1 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL (07/2015 -) )

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. INSPECT FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR (FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the W2 front vertical motor connector.

    2. Check if the seat cushion moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the front vertical motor connector terminals.

      OK

      Condition Operational Direction
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 4
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Seat cushion moves downward
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 4
      Seat cushion moves upward

    Result:  NG

    REPLACE FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR (FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH)

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH - FRONT VERTICAL MOTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the W9 front power seat switch RH connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W9-8 (FRV+) - W2-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      W9-5 (FRV-) - W2-4 Always Below 1 Ω
      W9-8 (FRV+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W9-5 (FRV-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH RH 

    (Refer to REMOVAL (07/2015 -) )

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
