Open in Bus 1 Main Bus Line (07/2015 -): Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the H60 central gateway ECU connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H60-15 (CA5H) -H60-16 (CA5L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Central Gateway ECU)

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU 

    (Refer to REMOVAL (07/2015 -) )

    Result:  NG

    NG

  2. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION TERMINAL) 
    1. Reconnect the H60 central gateway ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the P37 No. 2 CAN junction terminal connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P37-3 (CANH) - P37-2 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to No. 2 CAN junction terminal)

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE NO. 2 CAN JUNCTION TERMINAL 

    Result:  NG

    NG

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 4 CAN J/C) 
    1. Reconnect the P37 No. 2 CAN junction terminal connector.
    2. Disconnect the H146 and H147 No. 4 CAN junction connectors.

      HINT: 

      • Connectors that connect to the CAN junction connector can be distinguished by the color of their CAN bus lines.
      • Reconnecting the connectors to non-original positions on the CAN junction connector does not affect system performance. However, it is preferred to reconnect the connectors to their original positions to avoid negative effects on the wiring such as tension on the wiring harnesses, and to make future maintenance easier.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Result:  C

  4. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (NO. 5 CAN J/C) 
    1. Reconnect the H146 and H147 CAN junction connectors.
    2. Disconnect the U24 and U27 No. 5 CAN junction connectors.

      HINT: 

      • Connectors that connect to the CAN junction connector can be distinguished by the color of their CAN bus lines.
      • Reconnecting the connectors to non-original positions on the CAN junction connector does not affect system performance. However, it is preferred to reconnect the connectors to their original positions to avoid negative effects on the wiring such as tension on the wiring harnesses, and to make future maintenance easier.
