AFS ECU Communication Stop Mode (2016 - 2017): Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS LINES (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the A74 headlight swivel ECU assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A74-12 (CANH) - A74-13 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Headlight Swivel ECU Assembly)

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT SWIVEL ECU ASSEMBLY) 

    Result:  OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (GROUND TERMINAL) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A74-22 (E1) - Body ground Cable disconnected from negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal Below 1 Ω

      (to Headlight Swivel ECU Assembly)

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GROUND TERMINAL) 

    Result:  OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE TERMINAL) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A74-15 (IG) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
