Even when Engine is Started or Transmission Shift Main Switch (P Position Switch) is Pushed, Sound does not Stop [08/2014 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (Oil Pressure SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Vehicle Proximity Notification System / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      VEHICLE PROXIMITY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

      Oil Pressure SW Oil pressure switch / OFF or ON OFF: Engine started
      ON: Engine not started

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (Shift Position) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Vehicle Proximity Notification System / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      VEHICLE PROXIMITY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM

    REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER

  3. CHECK VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER (SHIFT) 
    1. Disconnect the A21 transmission control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A21-20 (IND) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 8 V or higher
      Power switch off Below 1 V

    Result:  NG

  4. CHECK TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the A21 transmission control ECU assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A21-20 (IND) - Body ground Power switch on (IG), park (P) selected Below 2.5 V
      Power switch on (IG), park (P) not selected 8 V or higher

    REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER

    REPLACE TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

    (See article. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2014 - ] )

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - TRANSMISSION CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H138 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Disconnect the A21 transmission control ECU assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H138-11 (SFTP) - A21-20 (IND) Always Below 1 Ω
      H138-11 (SFTP) or A21-20 (IND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER 

    (See article. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2014 - ] )

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  6. CHECK ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY (INPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Disconnect the H138 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H138-12 (OPSW) - Body ground Idling* 8 V or higher
      Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V

      HINT: 

      *:Put the engine in inspection mode (See article. Refer to INSPECTION MODE PROCEDURE [08/2014 - ] ).

    REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the H138 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector.
    2. Disconnect the D25 engine oil pressure switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      H138-12 (OPSW) - D25-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      H138-12 (OPSW) or D25-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result:  OK

    OK 

    REPLACE ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    (See article. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2014 - ] )

    Result:  NG

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
