Inspection [09/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TILT MOTOR 
    1. Apply the 12 V auxiliary battery voltage to the tilt motor connector. Then check the steering wheel tilt operation.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      12 V auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (TIM+)
      12 V auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (TIM-)      		 The steering wheel tilts up.
      12 V auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal 2 (TIM-)
      12 V auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal 1 (TIM+)      		 The steering wheel tilts down.

  2. INSPECT TELESCOPIC MOTOR 
    1. Disconnect connector A from the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU.

    2. Apply 12 V auxiliary battery voltage to the multiplex tilt and telescopic ECU connector. Then check the steering wheel telescopic operation.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      12 V auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal A-2 (TEM+)
      12 V auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal A-6 (TEM-)      		 The steering column contracts.
      12 V auxiliary battery positive (+) → Terminal A-6 (TEM-)
      12 V auxiliary battery negative (-) → Terminal A-2 (TEM+)      		 The steering column extends.
