Removal [10/2015 - 09/2017]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

    Refer to PRECAUTION [10/2015 - ]

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

    NOTE:

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    Refer to INITIALIZATION [10/2015 - 09/2016] , or Refer to INITIALIZATION [09/2016 - 09/2017]

  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  4. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017]

  5. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and battery tray.

  6. SEPARATE NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts and nut and separate the No. 1 engine room relay block.

    2. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.
  7. SEPARATE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK 
    1. Remove the bolt and nut and separate the No. 3 engine room relay block.

    2. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

  8. SEPARATE SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the bolt and separate the suction pipe sub-assembly from the suction tube bracket.

  9. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the 8 ignition coil assembly connectors.

    2. Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coil assemblies from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
      NOTE:

      If an ignition coil assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      HINT: 

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.

  10. REMOVE SPARK PLUG 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9
