Open in Bus 5 Main Bus Line [10/2015 - 09/2016]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU) - NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR AND NO. 13 JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU))
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K66-15 (CA5H) - K66-16 (CA5L) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher
      K66-9 (CAXH) - K66-24 (CAXL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 200 Ω or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL [10/2015 - 09/2017] 

    Result: 

    NG

  2. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the K66 central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) connector.

      Result

  3. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the No. 1 CAN junction connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to No. 1 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 5 CAN Junction Connector
      *c to Central Gateway ECU (Network Gateway ECU) (CA5H and CA5L Terminal)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Connected to
      A39-9 (CANH) - A39-20 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 5 CAN junction connector
      A39-10 (CANH) - A39-21 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω Central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) (CA5H and CA5L Terminal)

    REPLACE NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN MAIN WIRE OR CONNECTOR (NO. 1 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR - CENTRAL GATEWAY ECU (NETWORK GATEWAY ECU))

  4. CONNECT CONNECTOR 
    1. Reconnect the A39 No. 1 CAN junction connector.

      Result

  5. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 5 CAN JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the No. 5 CAN junction connector.

      (to No. 5 CAN Junction Connector)
      *b to No. 13 Junction Connector
      *c to No. 1 CAN Junction Connector
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      K107-3 (CANH) - K107-14 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 13 junction connector
      K107-4 (CANH) - K107-15 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 1 CAN junction connector

    1. Reconnect the K107 No. 5 CAN junction connector.

  7. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (NO. 13 JUNCTION CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the No. 13 junction connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      T40-8 (CANH) - T40-19 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω No. 5 CAN junction connector
      T40-9 (CANH) - T40-20 (CANL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω Central gateway ECU (network gateway ECU) (CAXH and CAXL terminal)
