Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Power Source Circuit [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY (POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      B9-5 (IGB) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      (to Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Assembly)
    4. Reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR 2GR-FSE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A5-9 (LGND) - B9-1 (LGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR 4GR-FSE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A5-29 (LGND) - B9-1 (LGND) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR 2GR-FSE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A5-9 (LGND) or B9-1 (LGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ of higher
      FOR 4GR-FSE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A5-29 (LGND) or B9-1 (LGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ of higher

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Assembly)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to ECM)
      *3 for 2GR-FSE
      *4 for 4GR-FSE
    4. Reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY - ECM) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B9-2 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      (to Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Assembly)
    3. Reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 

    OK → See step   5 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR - DISTANCE CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the distance control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B9-5 (IGB) - J17-13 (IGB) Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B9-5 (IGB) or J17-13 (IGB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Distance Control ECU)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Millimeter Wave Radar Sensor Assembly)
    4. Reconnect the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly connector.
    5. Reconnect the distance control ECU connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR - DISTANCE CONTROL ECU) 

    OK → See step   6 

  5. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2013 - ] 
  6. REPLACE DISTANCE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
