Turn Signal Switch Circuit [04/2013 - 10/2016]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. Read the display on the Techstream.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Turn Signal Switch (Right) Turn signal switch (right) signal ON or OFF ON: Turn signal switch (right) on
      OFF: Turn signal switch (right) off

      Turn Signal Switch (Left) Turn signal switch (left) signal ON or OFF ON: Turn signal switch (left) on
      OFF: Turn signal switch (left) off
      -

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Data List 

      Tester Display
      Turn Signal Switch (Right)

      OK

      Normal conditions listed above are displayed.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [04/2013 - 06/2014]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2014 - 08/2015]  , or refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 10/2016]

    NG

  2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *a Component without harness connected
      (Headlight Dimmer Switch Assembly)

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      15 (TR) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch in neutral position 10 kΩ or higher
      14 (TL) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch in neutral position 10 kΩ or higher
      17 (CR) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch in neutral position 10 kΩ or higher
      15 (TR) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch in right turn position Below 1 Ω
      17 (CR) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch in full right turn position Below 1 Ω
      14 (TL) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch in left turn position Below 1 Ω
      17 (CR) - 16 (E) Turn signal switch in full left turn position Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the K24 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K23-16 (E) - K24-6 (GND1) Always Below 1 Ω
      K23-14 (TL) - K24-13 (TL1) Always Below 1 Ω
      K23-15 (TR) - K24-14 (TR1) Always Below 1 Ω
      K23-17 (CR) - K24-12 (CR1) Always Below 1 Ω
      K23-16 (E) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K23-14 (TL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K23-15 (TR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K23-17 (CR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K24-16 (TR2) - K4-4 (ER) Always Below 1 Ω
      K24-17 (TL2) - K4-5 (EL) Always Below 1 Ω
      K24-16 (TR2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K24-17 (TL2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK
