DTC P0571: Stop Light Switch Circuit Malfunction [08/2013 - ]: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Use the Data List to check if the stop light switch is functioning properly. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [08/2013 - ]

- CHECK FOR DTC (VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM)
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

Vehicle stability control system DTCs are not output.

OK: Go to next step
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

- CHECK FOR DTC
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .
- Perform the following to make sure the DTC detection conditions are met.
HINT:
If the detection conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.
- Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.
- Turn the cruise control switch on.
- Push the cruise control switch to -SET to activate cruise control.
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the A5 stop light switch connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- Disconnect the A5 stop light switch connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STOP LIGHT SWITCH - ECM)
- Disconnect the A5 stop light switch connector.
- Disconnect the G44 and G45 ECM connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

OK: Go to next step
- CHECK STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Temporarily replace the stop light switch with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ] .
- Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ] .
- Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2013 - ]

DTC P0571 is not output.
NG → See step 7
OK → END (STOP LIGHT SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE)
- REPLACE ECM. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
- REPLACE ECM. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2013 - ]
- GO TO VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [08/2013 - ]
- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [08/2013 - ]
