Wiper Switch (HI Speed) Circuit: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Using the Techstream, read the Data List.BODY NO. 5
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Front Wiper Hi Switch Front wiper HI switch / ON or OFF ON: Front wiper switch in HI position
OFF: Wiper switch not in HI position- OK
Wiper switch operates.

- Using the Techstream, read the Data List.
- INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH
- Remove the windshield wiper switch. Refer to REMOVAL [01/2012 - ]

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 4 (+2) - 2 (+B) Wiper switch in HI position Below 1 Ω 4 (+2) - 2 (+B) Wiper switch not in HI position 10 kΩ or higher
NG → See step 4
OK: Go to next step
- Remove the windshield wiper switch. Refer to REMOVAL [01/2012 - ]

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH - WINDSHIELD WIPER ECU)
- Disconnect the E16 switch connector.
- Disconnect the E89 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E16-4 (+2) - E89-9 (2S) Always Below 1 Ω E16-2 (+B) - E89-6 (ES) E89-9 (2S) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher E89-6 (ES) - Body ground
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → See step 5
- Disconnect the E16 switch connector.
- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH. Refer to REMOVAL [01/2012 - ]
- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER ECU. Refer to REMOVAL [01/2012 - ]
