DTC P0505: Idle Control System Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0505)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream ON.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
- Read DTCs.RESULT
Display (DTC output) Proceed to P0505 A P0505 and other DTCs B HINT:
If any DTCs other than P0505 are output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.

- CHECK PCV HOSE (HOSE CONNECTIONS)
OK
PCV hose is connected correctly and is not damaged.
NG → See step 6
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM
- Check the air induction system for vacuum leakage. Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [09/2012 - ] - Step 3

No leakage from air induction system.

- CHECK THROTTLE BODY (VISUALLY CHECK THROTTLE VALVE)
- Check for contamination between the throttle valve and the housing. If necessary, clean the throttle body. And check that the throttle valve moves smoothly.
OK
Throttle valve is not contaminated with foreign objects and moves smoothly.

- REPAIR OR REPLACE AIR INDUCTION SYSTEM. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2012 - ]
- REPLACE THROTTLE BODY. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2012 - ]
- REPLACE ECM. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2012 - ]
