DTC P0A1B-168: Drive Motor "A" Control Module; DTC P0A1B-795: Drive Motor "A" Control Module; DTC P0A1B-796: Drive Motor "A" Control Module: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P0A1B-168, 795 or 796 only is output. A
      Any of the following DTCs are also output. B
      DTC No. Relevant Diagnosis
      P0A3F-243 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit
      P0A40-500 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Range / Performance
      P0A41-245 Drive Motor "A" Position Sensor Circuit Low

    B → See step   13 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 2 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY - GENERATOR RESOLVER). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 3 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK GENERATOR RESOLVER. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 4 

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY - MOTOR RESOLVER). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 5 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK MOTOR RESOLVER. Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 6 

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (GENERATOR RESOLVER CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 7 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (MOTOR RESOLVER CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 8 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK → See step   14 

  9. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (GENERATOR RESOLVER CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 9 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY - GENERATOR RESOLVER). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 9 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   11 

  11. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (MOTOR RESOLVER CONNECTOR). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 10 

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY - MOTOR RESOLVER). Refer to  PROCEDURE - Step 12 

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   15 

  13. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [09/2012 - ] 
  14. REPLACE INVERTER WITH CONVERTER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2012 - ] 
  15. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY. Refer to  COMPONENTS [09/2012 - ]
