Washer Fluid Level Warning Switch Circuit: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH)
- Check the Data List for proper functioning of the washer fluid level warning switch. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2012 - ] .

The display is as specified in the normal condition.
FRONT LIGHT ECU:Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Washer Level switch Washer fluid level warning switch / ON or OFF ON: Washer jar and pump are empty
OFF: Washer jar and pump are full-
NG → See step 2
OK → See step 4
- Check the Data List for proper functioning of the washer fluid level warning switch. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2012 - ] .
- INSPECT WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH
- Disconnect the A2 switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 (SLR+) - 2 (E) Washer jar and pump is empty Below 1 Ω 1 (SLR+) - 2 (E) Washer jar and pump is full 10 kΩ or higher HINT:
When the fluid volume is between 600 and 800 cc (36.6 cu.in. and 48.8 cu.in.) the level warning switch may be on or off.
NG → See step 5
OK: Go to next step
- Disconnect the A2 switch connector.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WARNING SWITCH - FRONT LIGHT ECU AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the A2 switch connector.
- Disconnect the A52 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A2-1 (SLR1+) - A52-13 (WLVL) Always Below 1 Ω A2-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω A2-1 (SLR+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → REPLACE FRONT LIGHT ECU (FRONT CONTROLLER)
- Disconnect the A2 switch connector.
- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2012 - ]
- REPLACE WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2012 - ]
