DTC U1119: Lost Communication with Object Recognition ECU (CAN); DTC U1119: Lost Communication with Object Recognition ECU (Serial); DTC U1120: Lost Communication with Object Recognition Camera: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (COMMUNICATION WITH OBJECT RECOGNITION ECU) 
    1. Use the Data List to check if the communication with object recognition ECU is normal. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2012 - ] .

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OBJECT RECOGNITION ECU - OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA) 
    1. Disconnect the g1 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the X18 camera connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      g1-12 (SGND) - X18-12 (SGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      g1-13 (RX) - X18-14 (TX)
      g1-14 (TX) - X18-13 (RX)
      g1-13 (RX) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      g1-12 (SGND) - Body ground
      g1-14 (TX) - Body ground

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    1. Temporarily replace the object recognition camera. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    1. Adjust the object recognition camera. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2012 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2012 - ] .

      OK

      DTC U1119 and U1120 are not output.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → END (OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA IS DEFECTIVE) 

  6. REPLACE OBJECT RECOGNITION ECU 
    1. Temporarily replace the object recognition ECU. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. ADJUST OBJECT RECOGNITION CAMERA 
    1. Adjust the object recognition camera. Refer to ADJUSTMENT [09/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2012 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [09/2012 - ] .

      OK

      DTC U1119 and U1120 are not output.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK → END (OBJECT RECOGNITION ECU IS DEFECTIVE) 

  9. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [09/2012 - ] 
  10. REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2012 - ]
