DTC B1579: Voice Recognition Microphone Disconnected: Procedure

  1. INSPECT MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J114-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Multimedia Module Receiver Assembly)

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

      Result

      w/ Manual (SOS) Switch A
      w/o Manual (SOS) Switch B

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the J101 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the R5 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J101-35 (MCI-) - R5-5 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      J101-35 (MCI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)) 
    1. Disconnect the J114 multimedia module receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the J101 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J114-48 (MIN-) - J101-19 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      J114-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the J114 multimedia module receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the R5 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J114-49 (SNS2) - R5-4 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      J114-49 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Reconnect the J101 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Reconnect the J114 multimedia module receiver assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J101-35 (MCI-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Proceed to the next step based on the inspection result.

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)) 
    1. Disconnect the J114 multimedia module receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the R5 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J114-48 (MIN-) - R5-5 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      J114-49 (SNS2) - R5-4 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      J114-48 (MIN-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J114-49 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. INSPECT MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly).
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      5 (MCO-) - 4 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω

      (Map Light Assembly (Telephone Microphone Assembly))

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → See step   11 

  9. REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the telephone microphone assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [08/2012 - ] .
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK → END 

  10. REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] 
  11. REPLACE MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] 
  12. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER). Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ]
