DTC P1615: Communication Error from Distance Control ECU to ECM: Procedure

1. Confirm the designation information.
   1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
   2. Turn the cruise control main switch on.
   3. With the brake pedal depressed, push the cruise control main switch to +RES 3 times within 3 seconds. Check that the skid control buzzer sounds at this time.

      OK

      The skid control buzzer sounds. (Initialization is performed.)

      NOTE:

      • Do not turn the light control switch on at this time because the beam axis automatic adjustment mode has already started, which could lead to incorrect beam axis. If the light control switch is turned on by mistake, readjust the beam axis (refer to reference for beam axis adjustment). Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2012 - ] .
      • If initialization cannot be performed, first inspect the stop light switch circuit, cruise main switch circuit, and skid control buzzer circuit.

OK: Go to next step 

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [08/2012 - ] .
5. Perform the following to make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

   HINT: 

   If the detection conditions are not met, the malfunction cannot be detected.

   1. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 50 km/h (30 mph) or more.
   2. Turn the cruise control main switch on.
6. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Radar Cruise / Trouble Codes.
7. Read the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [08/2012 - ] .

   Result

   DTC is not output	A
   DTC P1615 is output	B

1. Replace the distance control ECU. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] .
