DTC B1206: P/W Master Switch Communication Stop: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the M17 connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M17-8 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      M17-10 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Connection
      M17-20 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMMUNICATION LINE) 
    1. Disconnect the L17 and Q36 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      M17-7 (MPX1) - Q36-23 (MPX1) Always Below 1 Ω
      M17-17 (MPX2) - L17-17 (MPX2) Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Window Regulator Master Switch Assembly)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Window Regulator Switch Assembly)
      *3 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Metaltop Control ECU (Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly))

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the power window regulator master switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [08/2012 - ] .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK DTC OUTPUT 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2012 - ] .
    2. Recheck for DTCs.

      OK

      DTC B1206 is not output.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → END (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  5. REPLACE GATEWAY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ]
