Multimedia Module Receiver Assembly Communication Stop Mode: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRES (MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the multimedia module receiver assembly connector.

      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multimedia Module Receiver Assembly)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J114-1 (CANH) - J114-2 (CANL) Engine switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BUS BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY BRANCH WIRE) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J114-12 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multimedia Module Receiver Assembly)
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J114-17 (+B1) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      J114-16 (ACC1) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V
      J114-15 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK (w/ Navigation system) A
      OK (w/o Navigation system with multi-display) B
      NG C

    B → See step   4 

    C → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 

    A → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE MULTIMEDIA MODULE RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2012 - ]
