Initializing The Tire Pressure Warning System

NOTE: The tire pressure warning system must be initialized when the tire inflation pressure is changed from the currently set specification. Refilling the tire to specification after a low pressure incident does not require initialization.
  1. With the ignition switch OFF, Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified cold tire inflation pressure level.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Press and hold the tire pressure warning reset switch until the tire pressure warning light flashes slowly 3 times. See Fig 1.
  4. Wait for a few minutes with the ignition switch in the ON and then turn the ignition switch OFF.
NOTE: Indications the initialization of the tire pressure warning system has failed:
  • When operating the tire pressure warning reset switch, the tire pressure warning light does not flash 3 times.
  • After carrying out the initialization procedure, the tire pressure warning light flashes for 1 minute then stays on after driving for 20 minutes.
