Washer Fluid Level Warning Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (WASHER LEVEL) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the Techstream main switch on.
    3. Select the item below in the DATA LIST, and read the displays on the Techstream.
      BODY NO. 5 (FRONT CONTROLLER):

      Item Measurement Item / Display (Range) Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Washer Level Switch Washer fluid level switch / ON or OFF ON: Washer fluid is empty
      OFF: Washer fluid is full
      -

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT CONTROLLER (ENGINE ROOM NO. 2 J/B) - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the 2F front controller (engine room No. 2 J/B) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2F-7 - Body ground Washer fluid is full 10 kΩ or higher
      2F-7 - Body ground Washer fluid is empty Below 1 Ω

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

  3. CHECK WASHER FLUID LEVEL SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the A1 washer fluid level sensor connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A1-1 - A1-2 Washer fluid is empty Below 1 Ω
      A1-1 - A1-2 Washer fluid is full 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPLACE WASHER FLUID LEVEL SENSOR 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
