Rain Sensor Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK RAIN SENSOR 
    1. Disconnect the R7 rain sensor connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R7-1 (SIG) - R7-3 (ES) Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V

    NG → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    OK → See step   2 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RAIN SENSOR - OVERHEAD J/B) 
    1. Disconnect the R5 overhead J/B connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R5-21 (IG) - R5-40 (GND2) Engine switch on (IG) 10 to 14 V
      Engine switch off Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (OVERHEAD J/B - BATTERY) 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (RAIN SENSOR - OVERHEAD J/B)
