4WD Control ECU Communication Stop Mode: Procedure

  1. CHECK OPEN IN CAN BUS LINE (4WD CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Disconnect the 4WD control ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A32-14 (CANH) - A32-16 (CANL) Engine switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE 4WD CONTROL ECU BRANCH LINE OR CONNECTOR (CANH, CANL) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IG1, GND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A32-23 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A32-11 (IG1) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE 4WD CONTROL ECU
