Room Oscillator Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the P33 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the oscillator connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      P33-12 (CG5B) - P15-3 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω
      P33-11 (CLG5) - P15-1 (CLG3) Always Below 1 Ω
      P33-14 (CG6B) - Q30-3 (CLGB) Always Below 1 Ω
      P33-13 (CLG6) - Q30-1 (CLG4) Always Below 1 Ω
      P33-12 (CG5B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩor higher
      P33-11 (CLG5) - Body ground Always 10 kΩor higher
      P33-14 (CG6B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩor higher
      P33-13 (CLG6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩor higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK AND REPLACE ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR 
    1. Replace the electrical key oscillator.
    2. Check that the entry LOCK/UNLOCK function operates normally.

      OK

      Entry LOCK/UNLOCK function operates normally.

    OK → END (ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

    NG: Go to next step 

  3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (CERTIFICATION ECU OUTPUT SIGNAL) 
    1. Reconnect the oscillator and the ECU connectors.

    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    4. Following the display on the tester, select the "Active Test".
      SMART KEY (CERTIFICATION ECU):

      Tester Display Vehicle Condition/Test Details
      Fr Transmitter Electrical key Oscillator (console) ON/OFF
      Rr Transmitter Electrical key Oscillator (rear seat) ON/OFF
    5. Measure the frequency according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard

      Tester Connection (Symbols) Condition Specified Condition
      P33-12 (CG5B) - P33-11 (CLG5) During ACTIVE TEST Frequency is generated (higher than 0 Hz)
      P33-14 (CG6B) - P33-13 (CLG6) During ACTIVE TEST Frequency is generated (higher than 0 Hz)

    NG → REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU 

    OK → PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
