Voice Recognition Difficulty: Procedure

  1. CHECK CONDITION 
    1. Check if the voice recognition level of the system is low when recognizing a particular voice.

      OK

      Voice recognition level of the system is low with any voice.

      HINT: 

      The voice recognition level varies depending on voice and pronunciation. This is not a malfunction.

    NG → END 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARD DISK DRIVE (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter the "Failure Diagnosis" screen. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [06/2012 - ] .

    2. Select "HDD Check" and check the result.

      OK

      "OK" is displayed.

      HINT: 

      After "HDD Check" is selected, it may take a while until the result is displayed.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK CABIN 
    1. Check that condensation is not likely to occur in the cabin, and that the temperature is not high or extremely low in the cabin.

      HINT: 

      • A humid cabin and a rapid change in temperature may lead to condensation. Condensation in the cabin may cause a short circuit.
      • The navigation system may not operate normally when the temperature is -20°C (-4°F) or less, or 65°C (149°F) or higher.

      OK

      Condensation is not likely being produced and the temperature is not high or extremely low.

    NG → SET CABIN TO APPROPRIATE TEMPERATURE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter "Microphone&Voice Recognition Check" screen. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [06/2012 - ] .

    2. When voice is input into the microphone, check that the microphone input level meter changes according to the input voice.
    3. Push the recording switch and perform voice recording.

      HINT: 

      • Select the recording switch with the blower motor of the air conditioning system stopped. If an outlet of the air conditioning system is facing the microphone, noise may be recorded.
      • Voice can be recorded for up to 5 seconds.
    4. Check that the recording indicator remains on while recording and that the recorded voice is played normally without noise or distortion.

      OK

      All check results are normal.
