How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [12/2011 - ]

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
    1. Confirm the problem symptoms. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2011 - ] .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage

    11 to 14 V

    If the voltage is less than 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Using the Techstream, check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [12/2011 - ] .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

      B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2011 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA* 
    1. Check and record DTCs and Freeze Frame Data. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2011 - ] .
    2. Clear the DTCs and Freeze Frame Data. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2011 - ] .
    3. Recheck for DTCs.
      1. Simulate the malfunction and check if the DTCs are output again.
        RESULT

        Result Proceed to
        DTC is output A
        DTC is not output (Problem symptom does not occur) B
        DTC is not output (Problem symptom occurs) C

      B → GO TO STEP 7 

      C → GO TO STEP 8 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
    1. Proceed to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2011 - ] .

      NEXT → GO TO STEP 9 

  7. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 
    1. Proceed to How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2011 - ] .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Proceed to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2011 - ] .

  9. CIRCUIT INSPECTION*

  10. IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEM
