Distance Control Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DISTANCE CONTROL SWITCH) 
    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the distance control switch. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2011 - ] .
      RADAR CRUISE

      Distance Control Switch Distance control switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Distance control switch is on
      OFF: Distance control switch is off

      OK

      Display changes according to steering pad switch with modulator (distance control switch) operation described in above table.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   7 

  2. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2011 - ] .
    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly. Refer to INSPECTION [12/2011 - ] .

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2011 - ] .
    2. Inspect the spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly. Refer to INSPECTION [12/2011 - ] .

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - DRIVING SUPPORT ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N31 spiral with sensor cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N5 driving support ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N31-12 (DIST) - N5-6 (SPSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      N31-2 (ECC) - Body ground
      N31-12 (DIST) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   6 

  5. REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2011 - ] 
  6. REPLACE DRIVING SUPPORT ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2011 - ] 
  7. PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [12/2011 - ] 
  8. REPLACE SPIRAL WITH SENSOR CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [12/2011 - ]
