Front Wiper Motor Circuit: Procedure
- INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
- Remove the windshield wiper motor assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [06/2012 - ] .
- Check the LO operation.
- Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 5 (+1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (E), and check that the motor operates at low speed.
OK
Motor operates at low speed (LO).
- Connect a battery positive (+) lead to terminal 5 (+1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 4 (E), and check that the motor operates at low speed.
- Check the HI operation.
NG → See step 5
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - IG1 NO. 1 RELAY AND BODY GROUND)
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A25-2 (B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A25-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY - WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the H51 windshield wiper relay assembly connector and H25 windshield wiper switch assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
