How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [06/2012 - ]

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [06/2012 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication system DTC is not output. A
      CAN communication system DTC is output. B

      B → GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2012 - ] 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA* 
    1. Refer to DTC Check/Clear for the blind spot monitor system. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [06/2012 - ] .
    2. Record or print DTCs and freeze frame data, if necessary. Refer to FREEZE FRAME DATA [06/2012 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are output. A
      DTCs are not output. B

      B → Go to step   9 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. CLEAR DTC* 
    1. Refer to DTC Check/Clear for the blind spot monitor system. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [06/2012 - ] .

      HINT: 

      The current DTCs may not indicate actual malfunctions depending on the vehicle operating conditions.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. RECHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Refer to DTC Check/Clear for the blind spot monitor system. Refer to DTC CHECK/CLEAR [06/2012 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are output. A
      DTCs are not output. B

      HINT: 

      Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs. This is because the system stores history DTCs.

      B → Go to step   9 

      A: Go to next step 

  8. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE 
    1. Find the output DTC in Diagnostic Trouble Code Table. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE TABLE [06/2012 - ] .

      NEXT → Go to step   11 

  9. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [06/2012 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in Problem Symptoms Table. A
      Fault is listed in Problem Symptoms Table. B

      HINT: 

      If the symptom does not recur and no DTC is output, attempt to reproduce the symptoms. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2012 - ] .

      B → Go to step   11 

      A: Go to next step 

  10. PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING BASED ON MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM* 
    1. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU [06/2012 - ] .
    2. Refer to DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST [06/2012 - ] .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. CIRCUIT INSPECTION 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  12. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  13. PERFORM BEAM AXIS INSPECTION AND CONFIRMATION 
    1. Enter Test Mode (refer to Blind Spot Monitor Beam Axis Inspection). Refer to OPERATION CHECK [06/2012 - ] .
    2. Confirm the blind spot monitor beam axis display and perform the blind spot monitor beam axis adjustment. Refer to OPERATION CHECK [06/2012 - ] .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  14. PERFORM CONFIRMATION TEST* 

    NEXT → END
