Transfer Assembly: Removal: Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE 

    HINT: 

    See the steps from "Precaution" through "Remove Engine Assembly with Transaxle". Refer to REMOVAL .

  2. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  3. REMOVE RADIATOR PIPE CLAMP  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 84
  4. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  5. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 87
  6. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR WITH FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 4
  7. REMOVE STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  8. REMOVE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 90
  9. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 95
  10. REMOVE TCM  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 10
  11. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 11
  12. REMOVE TRANSFER STIFFENER PLATE RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 96
  13. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 13
  14. REMOVE TRANSFER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 8 nuts.

    2. Using a plastic hammer, remove the transfer assembly from the transaxle assembly.
      NOTE:
      • Remove the transfer assembly from the transaxle assembly without tilting it.
      • During removal, do not hold the transfer assembly by the oil seals on either side of the assembly.
    3. Remove the 4 transfer and transaxle setting stud bolts.
