Suspension Control Ecu: Removal: Removal

  1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
    NOTE: w/ Navigation System (for HDD):

    After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

    Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal

    Condition Waiting Time
    Vehicle enrolled in safety connect system 6 minutes
    Vehicle not enrolled in safety connect system 1 minute
  3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 13
  4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOLDING  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 14
  5. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 15
  6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 5
  7. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 6
  8. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 18
  9. DISCONNECT CONNECTORS (w/ Clearance Warning ECU) 
  10. DISCONNECT CONNECTORS (w/ Parking Assist ECU) 
  11. REMOVE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU WITH BRACKET 
    1. Disconnect the suspension control ECU connectors.

      HINT: 

      Do not apply excessive force to the wire harnesses.

    2. Remove the bolt, nut and bracket.

  12. REMOVE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU 
    1. Remove the 2 nuts and suspension control ECU from the bracket.

      NOTE:
      • Avoid any impact to the suspension control ECU.
      • Do not drop the ECU. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
