Key Luggage Compartment Lock-in Prevention Function does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START
    1. Check that the entry luggage compartment open function operates.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
Entry luggage compartment open function operates A
Entry luggage compartment open function does not operate B

    B → See step   6

    A: Go to next step

  2. CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT
    1. Bring the electrical key transmitter near the indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage room), and check that the entry luggage compartment lock-in prevention function operates.
      NOTE:

If the key is brought within 0.2 m (0.6 ft.)of the indoor electrical key oscillator, communication is not possible.

      HINT:

      • When the electrical key transmitter is brought near the indoor electrical key oscillator (for luggage room), the possibility of wave interference decreases, and it can be determined if wave interference is causing the problem symptom.
      • If the inspection result is that the operation check is normal, the possibility of wave interference is high. Also, added vehicle components may cause wave interference. If installed, remove them and perform the operation check.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Operation check fails A
      Operation check is normal B

B → AFFECTED BY WAVE INTERFERENCE

    A: Go to next step

  3. KEY DIAGNOSTIC MODE
    1. Diagnostic mode inspection (luggage room inside oscillator)

      1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
      2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
      3. Turn the Techstream on.
      4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access / Smart Communication Check /Overhead + Luggage.
      5. When the electrical key transmitter is held at the same height as the rear bumper upper surface and aligned with the center of the rear of the vehicle, check that the wireless door lock buzzer sounds.

        HINT:

If the buzzer sounds, it can be determined that the luggage compartment interior transmitter is operating normally.

        OK

        Wireless door lock buzzer sounds

    NG → See step   4

    OK → REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - CERTIFICATION ECU)
Fig 2: Identifying S44 Oscillator Connector And L15 ECU Connector Terminals

    1. Disconnect the S44 oscillator connector.
    2. Disconnect the L15 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S44-1 (CLG6) - L15-15 (CLG7) Always Below 1 Ω
      S44-3 (CLGB) - L15-16 (CG7B) Always Below 1 Ω
S44-1 (CLG6) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
S44-3 (CLGB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    OK: Go to next step

  5. CHECK INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION)
    1. Replace the indoor electrical key oscillator with a new one or normally functioning one. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK

      Operates normally

    NG → REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU

OK → END (INDOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE)

  6. GO TO DTC OF OTHER COMPONENTS. Refer to  Luggage Compartment Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate when Key is Outside Luggage Compartment
