DTC 74-40: Short in Speaker Circuit: Procedure
- INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the stereo component amplifier assembly connectors P44 and P28.
- Clear the DTCs and recheck for DTCs.
- Check if DTC 74-40 is output.
OK
DTC 74-40 is not output.
NG → See step 15

- CHECK OPERATION
- Reconnect the stereo component amplifier assembly connector P28.
- Check if DTC 74-40 is output.

- Disconnect P44 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
- Disconnect J114 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.*1

- Disconnect L1, M13, N4, N6, O4, O6, N3 and O3 speaker connectors.
- Measure the resistance between the stereo component amplifier assembly and body ground to check for a short circuit in the wire harness.
