How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard Voltage

    11 to 14 V

    • If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. BASIC INSPECTION 
    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    2. Check whether or not the radio receiver assembly turns on.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Radio receiver assembly turns on. A
      Radio receiver assembly does not turn on. B

      B → Go to step 8 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Refer to DTC Check/Clear of the navigation system.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output. A
      DTC is not output. B

      HINT: 

      After the check using the Techstream, check the "System Check Mode" screen as necessary.

      B → Go to step 8 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. DTC CLEAR* 
    1. Refer to DTC Check/Clear of the navigation system.

      HINT: 

      The current DTCs may not indicate actual malfunctions depending on the vehicle operating conditions.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  6. RECHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Refer to DTC Check/Clear of the navigation system.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output. A
      DTC is not output. B

      HINT: 

      • Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs. This is because the system stores history DTCs.
      • After the check using the Techstream, check the "System Check Mode" screen as necessary.
      • Check the DTC and inspect the area the code indicates.

      B → Go to step 9 

      A: Go to next step 

  7. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
    1. Find the output code in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .
      NOTE:
      • The navigation system outputs DTCs for the following systems.
      • When DTCs other than the codes in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the audio and visual system are output, refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the relevant systems.
      • Refer to Navigation System (for HDD). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .
      • Refer to Navigation System (for DVD). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Audio and Visual System (w/ Navigation System) DTCs are output. A
      Navigation System (for HDD) DTCs are output. B
      Navigation System (for DVD) DTCs are output. C

      A → Go to step 10 

      B → GO TO NAVIGATION SYSTEM (for HDD) 

      C → GO TO NAVIGATION SYSTEM (for DVD) 

  8. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in Problem Symptoms Table. A
      Fault is listed in Problem Symptoms Table. B

      HINT: 

      If the symptom does not recur and no DTC is output, perform the symptom reproduction method. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING .

      B → Go to step 11 

      A: Go to next step 

  9. PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING BASED ON MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM 
    1. Refer to Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  10. CHECK CIRCUIT 
    1. Adjust, repair or replace as necessary.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  11. RECHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE 

    HINT: 

    After clearing DTCs, recheck for DTCs.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  12. PERFORM CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
