Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
  • The smart access system with push-button start (for Entry Function) uses the CAN communication system and LIN communication system. First inspect the communication systems by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING . Troubleshoot the smart access system with push-button start (for Entry Function) after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly.
  • When using the Techstream with the power switch off to troubleshoot:

    Connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the Techstream and vehicle begins.

  • Check that there are no electrical key transmitters in the vehicle.
  • Before performing the inspection, check that DTC B1242 (wireless door lock control) is not output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
  • Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), refer to the smart access system with push-button start (for Entry Function). Refer to PRECAUTION .
  • After repair, confirm DTC not reoccur with performing the "DTC Output Confirmation Operation".
  • Door control receiver has a constant voltage (5 V) supply circuit connected to terminal "+5".
  • When only the key (for card type) does not operate the entry lock/unlock functions for all doors, it can be suspected that the key (for card type) is malfunctioning or its battery is depleted. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
