Windshield Deicer Switch: Inspection: Inspection

  1. INSPECT FRONT WIPER DEICER SWITCH 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 (IG) - 5 (ECU) Front wiper deicer switch on Below 1 Ω
      1 (IG) - 5 (ECU) Front wiper deicer switch off 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Front Wiper Deicer Switch)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front wiper deicer switch.

    2. Apply battery voltage and check that the front wiper deicer switch indicator illuminates.

      Standard

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 1 (IG)
      Battery negative (-) → 6 (IND-)
      Front wiper deicer switch indicator illuminates
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Front Wiper Deicer Switch)

      If the result is not as specified, replace the front wiper deicer switch.
