Multi-display Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MULTI-DISPLAY SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the F74 telltale light assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F74-3 (SW1) - F74-4 (E) "OPEN/CLOSE" switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      F74-3 (SW1) - F74-4 (E) "OPEN/CLOSE" switch pressed Below 1 Ω
      F74-2 (SW2) - F74-4 (E) "TILT" switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      F74-2 (SW2) - F74-4 (E) "TILT" switch pressed Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Telltale Light Assembly)

    NG → See step   4 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the F74 telltale light assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the F72 display module board connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F74-3 (SW1) - F72-13 (VCC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F74-2 (SW2) - F72-14 (VDD) Always Below 1 Ω
      F74-3 (SW1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F74-2 (SW2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F74-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  4. REPLACE TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
